Event 1 - Photograph Exhibition and Cultural Sessions in Schools


   
Event Details:  
Location: Two municipal primary schools in the West zone of Delhi
Collaboration for photographs: Embassy of Japan in Delhi
Exhibition Content Photographs taken by Indian visitors to Japan.
  Subjects include traditional Japanese architecture, people, landscape, history of Japan-India relations, Japanese culture, crafts, shrines, temples, distinctive seasons, traditional culture, architecture, and the latest technology.
  Photographs are borrowed from and will be returned to the Embassy of Japan.
Additional Activities Special sessions on Japanese culture and heritage for students and teachers
 
This event promises to be an enriching experience for the students, offering them a visual and educational journey through Japanese culture and heritage

Event 2 - Hope for Peace -1000 ORIZURU by primary school students in the memory of Sadako Sasaki


   
Event Details:  
Location: Four Municipal Corporation Primary School and Open Schools in the slums of West Delhi.
  To honor Sadako Sasaki, the young girl who conveyed a message of peace by making 1000 paper cranes (Orizuru) after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Purpose Photographs taken by Indian visitors to Japan.
  To introduce students to the legend of Japanese paper cranes, which are believed to live for a thousand years and symbolize the fulfillment of a wish when 1000 cranes are folded.
Activities SWYAA-India will be conducting Origami workshops to teach students how to fold paper cranes.
  Educating students about the cultural significance and the legend associated with Japanese paper cranes.
Additional Activities Representative students will visit the Embassy of Japan to present 1000 Orizuru to H.E. Ambassador of Japan on 17th September 2024
